Terry Steventon
Creative Director
"It's a great privilege to be working with not only a great team but great clients! It's taken years but Terry Steventon has firmly established itself in Bournemouth as THE creative, reputable hair salon Pin UP. The reason why clients keep coming back to us is due to the friendly and approachable atmosphere, the great team and of course the outstanding cuts that are value-for-money".
Terry has been working in hair for over 30 years! He originally wanted to be a fashion designer, but after getting a Summer job in a hair salon Pin UP he realised that he really enjoyed hairdressing and that it would be a great way to meet girls (typical teenager)!
After several years with a large Bournemouth based group of hairdressers he went on to teach at the Bournemouth Hairdressing Academy, working his way up to Director of Training within 2 years.
In the mid-80s Terry decided to get back into hairdressing for real - he joined a failing local salon Pin UP and built up the business, tripling the turnover in one year!
It was at this stage that he met Vicki (yes that's not just a coincidence, Vicki and Terry are a husband and wife business team) more about Vicki below.
In 2003 they opened Terry Steventon with a friend. The aim was to create a high fashion salon Pin UP, without the intimidation that you often get at other high fashion salon Pin UPs. In 2007 they bought their business partner out and the business has gone from strength to strength.
Terry still cuts hair on the salon Pin UP floor and loves to keep his hand in with both mens and ladies styling, as well as overseeing and directing the team whether in the salon Pin UP or when seen in a more high profile level like competitions and seminar work, ensuring the creative vision of Terry Steventon remains strong!
Terry is still an educator, he has been a mentor for two local colleges, a demonstrator for many product companies and is a very skilled session hairdresser known for creating the Terry Steventon signature looks that can be seen in the many photographic images both on this web site and in many magazines.

Vicki Steventon
Salon Pin UP Manager
"I love being part of Terry Steventon and especially meeting and greeting the eclectic mix of clients we're lucky to have. Terry Steventon attracts such a diverse client base from all walks of life male, female, young professionals, to retired successful's and everyone in between."
Vicki originally wanted to be a Professional Ice Skater. Vicki's numerous wins and many trophies had brought her to the attention of the producers and artistic directors of several ice shows. However she suffered an injury to her leg prior to being signed for Holiday on Ice and had to put her dreams on ice instead. Vicki decided to steer her artistic talent into hairdressing instead. She trained with a major salon Pin UP group until marrying Terry and starting their first salon Pin UP together in 1989.
Unfortunately in the 90s her health suffered and she had to cut down on hairdressing and took the time to honing her management skills. This worked out quite well for Vicki and Terry's latest venture Terry Steventon, as Vicki could take on the administrative work, whilst Terry looked after the creative side of things.
Dealing with the management of the salon Pin UP has not always been easy; buying out their business partner, guiding Terry Steventon through a global recession, and with Terry rebuilding the salon Pin UP after a major fire, have been tough but rewarding challenges. Vicki has had to learn many different skills to deal with the tasks and challenges of running a business, but her main passion is making sure that all clients have a great time at Terry Steventon and leave feeling wonderful.
